Overcoming unemployment in Nigeria by running an internet business

What is the solution to the continuous unemployment in Nigeria? It’s my personal opinion that no government can provide employment to its entire citizen. The responsibility of the government is to provide the facilities and enabling environment for businesses to strive. Examples of such facilities include regular flow of electricity at affordable cost, good transportation systems, communications, etc.

In the developed society, it has been observed that small business owners are the bedrock that sustains their economy. For instance, with the advent of the internet, many Americans have used the internet to build their home businesses and have become their means of livelihood. As an unemployed or under-employed Nigerian, you can eliminate unemployment in Nigeria by starting an internet business that will gradually become your source of income. But it will require some efforts and resources, but it’s one of the best options with the present economy recession. If you are interested, you need to learn to build a business based on what you know and what you love doing. The first step is to do research to identify the problems bothering people in your niche and if they will pay for your solutions. The outcome of the research will determine the success and failure of your proposed business.
