The maiden edition of the 2013, MTN Link forum went down recently, in Lagos, at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. It was a gathering of young, bustling, entrepreneurs and professionals who gathered to interact and engage renowned business icons to get wisdom and priceless insight from their success stories.
Kola Oyeyemi, the General Manager, Consumer Marketing, MTN, gave a rousing speech on the objectives of the MTN Link Forum, stating that:
“MTN is committed to initiating ideas that enrich lives. The MTN Link Forum is one of these ideas. It is a platform that provides young, budding entrepreneurs and professionals the opportunity to connect to their dreams. What MTN has done is to create a platform where they can engage and interact with accomplished entrepreneurs and role models, so as to garner insights and knowledge on making a success of their businesses.”
Speaking on the theme, Leveraging Network, Tonye Cole, the Managing Director and Co-founder of Sahara Energy Resource Ltd, highligted on the need to be sincere in engaging people. “You cannot rule out the habit of networking if you want to succeed in your business. But, after cultivating a relationship, you also need to build trust. You need to respect yourself and the people you meet and that is by not abusing the privilege you have, being truthful. I tell you even though, integrity is very rare, whoever has it, is a true success,” he stated.
