Cristiano Ronaldo declared World’s Richest Footballer with €148m
popular football website Goal.com released their Rich List and declared Real Madrid and Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo as the richest active footballer in the world. The World Footballer of the Year held off rival Lionel Messi in the 2014 Goal Rich List with an estimated wealth of €148million. Retired footballer David Beckham was the 2013 Goal Rich List winner but since he’s retired from football, he’s no longer eligible to be put in the list. Messi comes second with an estimated net worth of €146million followed by Eto’o with €85million then Wayne Rooney with €84million, and Kaka rounds off the top 5 with €82million. But Goal made it clear that the list is based on the revenue of active players over the course of their entire careers and not just the previous year. Actor Chidi Mokeme talks about why him and his wife live apart
Well, when I met my wife, this was our default setting. Let me put it like that. Our default setting was that I live in Nigeria and my wife lives in America and then we started a relationship and decided to take the relationship further and decided we were going to be man and wife. So, having taken that decision and having crossed that level, the next thing is to find a way to ease into a location. Everybody knows that you don’t just pack your bag and move in one day. There are things that need to be sorted, relocation needs to be sorted. So, we are taking our time with it. But then again, by virtue of my job, I have a pretty much very flexible timing. I own my time, I decide when to work, when not to work. So, really, I can be with my wife anytime, every time I so desire and it makes it easy. If I work 9-5, then we will always have to wait for when someone was on leave the whole year round, if I want, just to be with my wife.

Dear LIB readers: How do I tell my siblings our parents died of HIV?
We grew up with a loving mum and dad. Dad was so handsome and kindhearted, mum's hips didn't lie at all with her beauty. As a child I knew dad was ladies man and he only sleeps at home once or twice a week. Despite his extreme social life,he cared for his kids 100% although my mum didn't enjoy his company the way a wife should always enjoy her husband. To cut the story short, my dad passed on in 2005 after suffering from kidney failure and HIV. Only my dad's younger brother and my mum who took care of him during the illness knew about his HIV status. I bumped into knowing 3days after his death while I was checking his phone, he sent a message to our family doctor about his status but I never asked my mum and she never told me too even though I was 19years old. His death was a shocking one for all and sundry because he was the breadwinner of the family and even to some people we didn't know; dad was so kind-hearted.
